The rapid spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past few weeks is dramatically affecting people around the world. We want to take a moment to communicate our commitment to doing what we can to help keep our students and staff safe during this rapidly evolving health situation.
First and foremost, we are doing our best to make thoughtful decisions based on the most current information available. We are following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) closely. We also encourage you to monitor their COVID-19 announcements on the organization websites:
CDC – https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/index.htm
WHO – https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019
So far, AIU has implemented or considered the following in response to the COVID-19 health situation:
Campus Classes: We’ve moved all on-ground classes in Houston and Atlanta to a distance (or remote) format except where it is absolutely necessary to have in-person.
Online Classes: We do not anticipate any changes to our online students at this time.
Faculty & Staff: We have canceled all business travel for faculty and staff until further notice. We are also encouraging remote work where possible.
We continue to monitor the situation in real-time and commit to you that we will continue to put our students, faculty and staff first. If you have any questions, please reach out to your dedicated student advisor.
